The Importance of Giving Back

Are you someone who has been very successful in losing weight or gaining muscle? Are you someone who achieved what you set out to do? Are you someone who is in the perfect fitness lifestyle? Is it smooth sailing from here? If you said yes then that's great but there's one more thing that you need to do and it is very important; give something back.

I don't mean give back your gym membership or anything like that. That would be silly. What I mean by giving back is this; when you were starting out did you look to certain websites or articles to help you on your way? Did you watch any videos that helped inform or motivate you on your journey? If you succeeded in getting to where you want to go or what you want to be then it is vital that you tell your story, give advice, help people out individually, write articles or anything that helps others do what you did to the best of your ability. This is what is meant by giving back.

Why is this important? Well firstly it helps you put into perspective your experiences, your journey and so on. Secondly and more importantly it is the best way to get others onto their fitness journey. Perhaps this is wishful thinking but what if just one person is inspired by someone else's story or their words of wisdom? What if just one person heeded your advice and went on to change their lives forever? Aside from the obvious benefit of changing someone's life, you could start a chain reaction that gets more and more people into fitness and into changing their lives for the better! If everyone inspired someone else to get into fitness and into looking after themselves imagine what kind of world we could live in! Imagine what kind of society we would be promoting just by getting the ball rolling for someone else and so on and so on.

Being in a position where you have achieved what so many others wish they could do is incredibly powerful and incredibly privileged. The place you the successful individual are in now is so valuable because you are in the minority. You are at the summit, now throw down a rope! There are so many people out there who feel that where they are right now is where they will always be because they feel they are not strong enough, or not good enough or just too mentally or physically incapable to change their lives. It's not easy but inspiring others is just what the world needs if we are to change the way the world thinks about living. It starts with a fitness uprising when you help someone else into fitness. It continues with a fitness rebellion as the people you inspire start inspiring others. It morphs into a fitness revolution and you, reading this article could be one of the architects.

There are people and organisations trying to do this right now but they can't reach out to everyone and some have the caveat of MONEY MONEY MONEY. This revolution requires the heart of a good Samaritan in order to be as effective as possible. Inspiration is in itself a reward for you because it is the knowledge that what you have achieved changes someone else as well as you and that is such a good feeling! It could even be a better feeling than that one you get after an epic workout session. You might never forget that feeling of inspiring others. Goosebumps people, that's what we are talking about!

This is a completely voluntary thing, giving back. You don't need to do it at all. You don't need to inspire others to change their lives, to follow in your footsteps. Some people choose the path that doesn't help others to follow them and to start their own fitness journey. If however more of you choose the path that looks back and helps others then imagine what you could help accomplish. All it takes is a spark to ignite something incredible and amazing. I hope you will take that path. It could be the best path you ever take.
