Eating Better Without Greens
Whilst eating healthy and sensible is the best thing you can do with your diet, there is a way of making an unhealthy diet better for you and your body.
Sometimes we just can't resist that Mars Bar, that Harribo Star Mix or bread. You only have one life, why miss out on something so tasty if you can?
Well there is a way of making it easier on your digestive system and your body. It's not a trick, it's not introducing people to the world of Bulemia...stand down mister pinky!
It's a simple rule of thumb. What makes you fat isn't so much what you eat, it's how much of it you at at one time.
Here's an example. If you eat a WHOLE PIZZA in an hour (lord knows it's easy to do so) that's bad for you. If you eat 3 slices of pizza every hour, that's better for you and easier on your digestive system and you will acquire less fat.
Seems obvious doesn't it? Apply that to a general rule. It's not so much what you eat that makes you fat, rather how much of it you eat at any one time.
It is more healthy for you to have 5-7 small meals/times to eat during the day rather than 3 huge meals a day. Starving yourself so you eat a lot at one time is worse than snacking.
Eating more often than just 3 meals a day will help your digestive system turn those calories into energy more readily and easily and so the body will store less excess calories as fat in the body.
Seems like common sense doesn't it? There has been this general idea that not eating will make you lose weight. Actually if you don't eat as much, firstly you get really crabby...so eat a snickers...because you turn into a right diva when you're hungry. But also the hungrier you are the more likely you will over-eat all at once. Also, if the body doesn't have the required amount of sugars and energy then it releases glycogen which is a natural source of sugars which re-energises your body...so essentially your body ingests the equivalent of a mini toblerone to keep your body functioning without food....seems silly...but it's necessary.
Don't be afraid to snack. Ideally snack healthy, and snack smart, but in doing so you lower the amount you feel you have to eat at lunch and dinner.
So if someone criticises you for snacking all the time just turn to them and say "i'm eating smart"...."because tony told me to do so".
